El Barcelona Burlesque Meeting & Festival no nace con el objetivo de ser otro festival de Burlesque a los que Europa cada vez más (por suerte) nos tiene acostumbrados. El Festival es la consecuencia del enorme talento que logramos agrupar en este espacio pero nuestra esencia es el Meeting.
En 2017, una cena entre nuestros Directores - Jordi González y Lulú Txispún - y su amiga, la performer americana Sgt. Die Wies, puso sobre la mesa (y nunca mejor dicho) la necesidad de mantener el contacto pese a la distancia, y de re-encontrarse de forma regular ya fuera durante las vacaciones, para celebrar un cumpleaños o verificar que sigue encendida la llama de su locura. Una cosa llevó a la otra y esa cena terminó con el reto de organizar un encuentro de Burlesque Internacional en Barcelona. Challenge accepted.
La primera edición se celebró en Octubre de 2018 y terminó con un éxito rotundo. Unimos artistas venidos de Estados Unidos, Austria y todo el panorama nacional. Este Meeting nos permitió no solo poder ver a los artistas en escena, sino compartir espacio y palabras con ellos, realizar Workshops, actividades y conocerlos fuera del escenario. Vuestras opiniones y buenas palabras hacen que, esta vez con una mesa más grande, nos volvamos a encontrar. Artistas de 10 países, muchas sorpresas, un jurado de élite, workshops, regalos y ganas de crear otra experiencia única.
Y recordad: Barcelona Burlesque Meeting & Festival. No es solo un Festival ¡Vívelo!

The Barcelona Burlesque Meeting & Festival isn't meant to be another Burlesque festival like the ones we lately (and luckily!) can see in Europe. The Festival is the consequence of the amount of talent we unite on our stage, but our essence is the Meeting.
In 2017, a dinner between our directors - Jordi González y Lulú Txispún - and her friend, the american performer Sgt. Die Wies, made them think of a way to stay in touch even through the distance, and look for an excuse to see each other regularly, during their holidays, to celebrate a birthday or just vto verify that the flame of their madness keeps burning. One thing led to another and that dinner ended with the challenge to organize an International Burlesque Reunion in Barcelona. Challenge accepted.
The 2018 and 2019 editions ended with a resounding success. We brought together artists from 10 different countries in order to honor the word "international". This Meeting allowed us not only to be able to see the artists on stage, but also to share space and words with them, carry out Workshops, activities and meet them off stage.
That is why, despite the situation that plagues the entire world today, this year we want to meet again, even if it is through a screen. Artists from around the world, an elite jury, online workshops and the desire to create another unique experience (but this time truly unique, we prefer to be able to see your faces next time!).
And remember: Barcelona Burlesque Meeting & Festival. Not only a Festival. Live it!
