The Barcelona Burlesque Meeting & Festival isn't meant to be another Burlesque festival like the ones we lately (and luckily!) can see in Europe. The Festival is the consequence of the amount of talent we unite on our stage, but our essence is the Meeting.
In 2017, a dinner between our directors - Jordi González y Lulú Txispún - and her friend, the american performer Sgt. Die Wies, made them think of a way to stay in touch even through the distance, and look for an excuse to see each other regularly, during their holidays, to celebrate a birthday or just vto verify that the flame of their madness keeps burning. One thing led to another and that dinner ended with the challenge to organize an International Burlesque Reunion in Barcelona. Challenge accepted.
The first edition was celebrated in October 2018 and ended with a huge success. We united artists coming from USA, Austria and all the national stage. This Meeting let us see all those artists on stage but also share stage and words with them, attend workshops, prepare some activities and get to know them out of the stage as well. Your feedback and words of love make that, this time in a bigger place, we can meet again. Artists from 10 countries, lots of surprises, an elite jury, workshops, gifts and the will to create another unique experience.
And remember: Barcelona Burlesque Meeting & Festival. Not only a Festival. Live it!
